Job Summary

The Retail Mortgage Market Leader is responsible for growing the company’s presence and production within a defined geographic area by leading a team of loan officers, driving sales performance, and executing business development strategies. This role focuses on building a strong retail mortgage footprint through consumer-focused lending, branch development, and referral network expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of retail mortgage loan officers to achieve monthly and annual production goals.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard high-performing loan officers aligned with the company’s culture and standards.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and exceptional customer service.
  • Expand market share by developing relationships with real estate professionals, builders, financial planners, and community partners.
  • Monitor local housing and mortgage market trends to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and compliance teams to ensure a seamless borrower experience.
  • Conduct regular pipeline reviews and performance check-ins with team members to ensure consistent execution.
  • Represent the brand at industry events, open houses, and community functions to drive visibility and business development.
  • Ensure all team activities comply with federal/state regulations, investor guidelines, and internal policies.

Qualifications:

  • Active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license and registration with NMLS required.
  • 5+ years in mortgage lending, with at least 2 years in a team leadership or branch management role within a retail environment.
  • Deep understanding of retail loan origination (FHA, VA, conventional, jumbo, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate sales teams in a competitive environment.
  • Strong network of referral partners within the assigned territory preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in retail lending.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with CRM and LOS platforms (e.g., Encompass, Blend, or similar).

      Job Summary

      The Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for helping clients obtain residential mortgage loans by evaluating financial information, guiding clients through the loan application process, and ensuring compliance with lending regulations and institutional policies. This role involves both sales and analytical responsibilities, requiring strong interpersonal skills and a solid understanding of mortgage products and underwriting standards.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Originate residential mortgage loans by developing new business and maintaining relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other referral sources.
      • Evaluate clients’ financial information (income, assets, credit, etc.) to determine loan eligibility and suitable loan products.
      • Advise clients on available loan options and explain the terms, risks, and benefits.
      • Assist borrowers in completing loan applications and collect necessary documentation.
      • Submit completed applications to processing and underwriting and follow up on status.
      • Ensure all mortgage loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
      • Stay current with market trends, loan products, and underwriting guidelines.
      • Meet or exceed production goals and performance metrics.
      • Represent the company at networking events, open houses, and other community activities.

      Qualifications:

      • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or related field preferred.
      • State-specific Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license and registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) required.
      • 2+ years of mortgage lending or financial services experience preferred.
      • In-depth knowledge of mortgage loan products (conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, etc.).
      • Strong customer service, sales, and communication skills.
      • Proficiency in loan origination systems (LOS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
      • Ability to manage multiple loan files in a fast-paced environment

      Working Conditions:

      • Office/ Home based with occasional travel to meet clients or attend networking events.
      • Some evening and weekend availability may be required to accommodate client schedules.
